St Catherine’s welcomes new residents in Bathurst

Over the past few weeks, 99 residents from two of Catholic Healthcare’s long standing Bathurst residential aged care services have moved into their new home on Gormans Hill Road.

The move to the accommodation followed the opening of Catholic Healthcare’s new St Catherine’s campus.

“I didn’t think it would be so beautiful,” one resident commented, another said “it’s like a hotel”.

One family member of a St Catherine’s resident remarked “new place, same spirit, care and compassion.”

Stage one of the new Bathurst development saw the merge of St Vincent’s Residential Aged Care, St Catherine’s Aged Care and Catholic Community Services.

Once all stages of construction are completed mid 2017, the new integrated campus will include a 130 room residential aged care service, home and community care, and local healthcare services.

At the heart of the development is Catholic Healthcare’s commitment to build a residential service that is as ‘home-like’ as possible, with a cafe, hair salon, library, Wellness Centre, a number of dining and living areas, secure outdoor walking areas and courtyards.
