Quality of Aged Care Facilities care – public hearings

Quality of Care in Residential Aged Care Facilities in Australia are to be held shortly in Sydney and Melbourne.


The Australian Parliament’s Health, Aged Care and Sport Committee will be holding public hearings in Sydney on Monday, 5 March 2018 and Melbourne on Tuesday, 6 March 2018, as part of its Inquiry into the Quality of Care in Residential Aged Care Facilities in Australia.


The Committee Chair, Mr Trent Zimmerman MP, said that “with nearly 240 000 older Australians receiving permanent residential care in the last year, the Committee is interested in how quality can best be achieved and maintained within the provider structure.”


“The Committee will be hearing from government agencies, medical professionals and family members of aged care recipients about the standard of current care in aged care facilities.”
