Committee to hear evidence on aged care in Queensland

The Australian Parliament’s Health, Aged Care and Sport Committee will be holding a public hearing in Brisbane on Thursday, 26 April 2018, as part of its Inquiry into the Quality of Care in Residential Aged Care Facilities in Australia.

 

The Committee Chair, Mr Trent Zimmerman MP, said that ‘the Committee is interested in what is and is not working well in aged care, and will be hearing evidence on staffing models, consumer feedback and reform of the sector’.

 

The Committee will hear from representatives of the Queensland Government, the Queensland Nurses and Midwives’ Union, advocacy groups, UnitingCare Queensland, Care Opinion Australia and the Townsville Community Legal Service about the standard of current care in aged care facilities.
