NRMA launches car reviews on best cars

The NRMA has gone live with Best Cars- a car review website launched in conjunction with the announcement of the winners of Australia’s Best Cars.
NRMA’s Head Road Tester and Australia’s Best Car judge Jaedene Hudson said buying a car was for most Australians their second biggest lifetime purchase.
“Best Cars has been designed to match people with cars based on their personal preferences and budget. The easy to use selector was designed to streamline the car purchase process,” Ms Hudson said.
“Best Cars uses the data from vehicles tested for the annual Australia’s Best Cars awards and includes the 2015 finalists and category winners. The car selector gives consumers 19 criteria to match their personal needs including; standard features, price, comfort, safety, performance and handling.
The NRMA Best Cars selector:
- is personalised to individual needs
- includes180 cars
- information comes from a rigorous schedule of independent car tests conducted by a panel of engineers, mechanics and motoring writers.
- information is not based on manufacturer supplied data
- information updated twice yearly
- cars are tested on bitumen, dirt and off road (where applicable).
Ms Hudson said the Best Cars selector was underpinned by the rigorous testing standards and objective testing data from the Australia’s Best Cars process.
These annual awards utilise the experience of 12 judges from motoring clubs around Australia with more than 140 years combined motoring industry knowledge.
The Volkswagen Group VW, Audi and Skoda – weren’t included in the current car selector tool because of the ongoing emissions scandal.
